Services and Pricing
I offer stylistic editing, copy editing, and proofreading services at $45/hr.*
Proofreading
- Checking for and correcting minor errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Ensuring consistent use of language (e.g., numbers and terms)
Copy Editing
- Editing for spelling, grammar punctuation, and usage
- Ensuring consistent use of language, correct sentence structure, and consistent use of facts.
- Ensuring that formatting is consistent (i.e., consistent heading sizes and fonts, paragraph indentation and spacing, page numbers, and chart and table captions)
Stylistic Editing
- Revising or rewriting sentences for clarity and concision
- Eliminating jargon, clichés, and euphemisms.
- Making sure that the tone, style, and voice are appropriate for the intended audience
- Making changes to paragraph/sentence length and structure to ensure the document flows well
- Suggesting or making minor additions to or cuts from the text
Documents I can work on for you
I can work in Word using Track Changes, or in PDF.
I can proofread or copy edit your:

- Business documents (e.g., reports, memos, manuals, brochures, forms, etc.)
- Nonfiction books (My focus is on personal development and personal relationships)
How long will it take to edit or proofread my document?
The time it will take to get your completed document back will depend on its length and the type and amount of editing required.
What will it cost to edit or proofread my work?
I will typically ask you for a sample from your document, usually around five to ten pages. I will edit this sample at no cost to you after which I will be able to provide you with an estimate. I am willing to discuss working for a flat rate.
Do you require a deposit?
For most documents, I will do the work and you will only have to pay when you receive my invoice. For longer works, we can discuss paying an installment at the beginning of the process or paying installments at agreed-upon milestones.
What if I need the work done quickly?
For an additional fee, I can provide my services for a document you need in a shorter time frame.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please let me know as soon as possible if you want to discontinue my services. Please keep in mind that you will be responsible for the hours I have worked. You will not receive the edited copy from me until my invoice is paid in full.
*Billing is in 15 min. increments. Payment is in the client's currency for U.S. and U.K. customers, $CDN for all others.
